The GI Joe Chronicles

After sustaining a serious battle injury, GI Joe begins to question his life as a soldier. He experiences a world in chaos and encounters human values that are hard and plastic. He finds them difficult to grasp.

After a period of deep despair and self-reflection, Joe joins a religious order and enters a monastery spending his time in self-imposed solitary confinement. After months of prayer and meditation, Joe emerges. He settles into a lifestyle more suited to his new role as Brother Joe. He finds fulfillment working in a village in Latin America, spending time in his studio, and even visiting an art gallery now and again.

This is Joe's Story

The photographs that comprise the GI Joe Chronicles were made using  a 35mm SLR (pre-digital era) camera and printed by hand from negatives on  Kodak photographic paper. They were created over a period of several years and telling the story of a humble action figure who fights hard and plays for keeps.
